Color analysis · Summer
The most muted cool season, and one of the most commonly mistyped. Soft Summer's defining feature is not coolness but softness — every color has gray mixed through it.

Most mistyping happens between adjacent seasons. These are the two most likely to be confused with Soft Summer.
Soft Summer or True Summer? Saturation, not temperature. If clear cool rose looks good, you're True Summer. If it looks garish next to dusty rose, you're Soft.
Soft Summer or Soft Autumn? Both are muted — the split is temperature. Sage against dusty rose: if sage yellows the skin and rose evens it, you're Soft Summer.
Cool and deliberately understated. Its neutrals are dove, pewter and slate, and its best outfits stay within a narrow tonal band rather than reaching for contrast.
Nearly every season has a stronger version of black, white and gray. Swapping these three is the single change that makes a wardrobe look chosen rather than assembled.
Summer menswear works a step softer than most men expect. Soft navy over ink, pewter over jet, and a shirt that is off-white rather than optic — the contrast comes down, and the face comes forward.
#3C4356#3B3E44#B9BDC1#9BA0A5#5C626A#2F343CSummer coloring is gentler than the black-and-white pairing assumes. Black reads heavier than your face, optic white reads colder, and together they create a contrast you do not have. Charcoal or soft navy against off-white gives the same formality with the contrast dialled to where your coloring actually sits.
Belt, shoes and strap sit in the same frame as your face all day. Matching their temperature to your coloring is the cheapest upgrade in a wardrobe.
The palette below is sorted the way clothes are actually bought: colors to wear weekly first, then the accents that work best in small doses against the neutrals above.
Dusty rose and soft mauve lips, muted pink blush, taupe and soft plum eyes. Nothing high-shine.
Hair color follows the same undertone and depth as the palette above, which is why a shade that flatters one Summer can fall flat on another.
Chroma reads your coloring from a photo and drapes any palette color under your chin, so you can judge Soft Summer against its neighbors on you rather than on a model. Then Style Studio turns your result into real outfits: men’s color analysis covers suits, shirts and leathers, women’s covers the wardrobe, shoes and bags, and suit colors by season names the exact navy, charcoal and gray for this palette.
